Hello White Ashians,
Just a quick Saturday update for you. We received word from the printer that the books will now ship NEXT week. I'm going to trust that this time they're accurate in that assessment.
We're well prepped here once the books do hit, (backing boards are ready, prints and assorted Kickstarter goodie bundles assembled, etc.) so that will only slightly shift the delivery expectations.
Domestic Backers — expect to receive your books between March 1st-11th.
International Backers — expect to receive your books sometime in the middle to the end of March (pending how well your country and USPS talk).
In the meantime, we're distributing some more digital goodies today. Look for an email from BackerKit with a link to this White Ash wallpaper from Mr. Hughes, in several different resolutions/ ratios.
In other White Ash news, Charlie will be a guest on Comics Academy's Comic Creators Club, on YouTube Live, March 2 at 9pm PACIFIC. He may be dropping some news about future White Ash plans, kickstarters, etc. So tune in if you'd like to be in the know. The show will be co-hosted by the amazing Malissa White (AKA @malissifent)
And speaking of the incredibly talented, Ms White, she has a Kickstarter for her dark fantasy comic NIGHTMARE running for another 4 days.
NIGHTMARE has a really cool and creepy conceit. It follows Lucinda "Luz" Padilla as she discovers her recurring nightmares are actually alternative realities. If you like Stranger Things' special blend of monster fantasy, Fringes' sci-fi conspiracy, and Nightmare on Elm Streets' horrifying dream worlds, you will love this dimension-hopping dark fantasy. Hello White Ashians,
You should have gotten a notice from BackerKit that we are preparing to ship your books! To that end, if you’ve moved since you filled out your White Ash Chapter Four survey, please update it so we can get them to your current address.
Now for the slightly less good news, as we’d sprung for the domestic shipping, we’d been promised a tight turnaround by our printer. We were supposed to have our books in hand by this past Monday, so we could begin fulfillment. But it seems they’ve been having some trouble at the factory with one of their main printing presses going down, so that’s delayed everything a little. We’re now being told the books will likely arrive towards the end of next week. If that holds, here’s the likely schedule going forward.
Domestic Backers — expect to receive your books between the 25th of Feb - 8th of March.
International Backers — expect to receive your books sometime in the middle to the end of March (pending how well your country and USPS talk).
We’ll keep you posted next week if this schedule changes. Everything else is ready to go, including the White Ash Window Clings (Which came out beautiful and might I add, are aptly Valentine’s Day themed).
A few other updates:
Conor should be back streaming again shortly. One of the first things he’ll be working on is the White Ash Wallpaper we promised you. If you’re not following him on Twitch, you can find his channel HERE. If you like watching art come to life, it’s a lot of fun.
Also, a couple of long-time friends of White Ash are back on Kickstarter. The first is Pat Shand with the third volume of his epic Destiny, NYseries.
If you like grounded fantasy like White Ash, Destiny NY is the perfect companion book for you. Pat has crafted a rich tapestry of magic, interwoven with romance, cats, coffee, sex and the way we build our own destinies every day. This is a Kickstarter for Vol 1-3 so you can catch up with the series. (Which we here at White Ash think is well worth your time)
Going 100 miles southwest and a little more than 100 years back in time you’ll also find Madeleine Holly-Rosing and Boston Metaphysical Society: The Spirit of Rebellion.
This time, instead of knocking around in Copley Square, Holly-Rosing’s award winning Steampunk series has traveled to Philadelphia (hence the southwest bit). Boston Metaphysical Society is about an ex-Pinkerton detective, a spirit photographer, and a genius scientist who battle supernatural forces in the late 1800’s. If you’re a fan of Steampunk, you really owe it to yourself to check this book out.
