Hello White Ashians,

Hope you and your families are all safe and healthy in these trying times.  In case you missed our previous update, we wanted to send out one last reminder that White Ash: Chapter Five is live on Kickstarter.  The campaign ends next week, leaving you a couple of days to get a copy.  We've unlocked a lot of stretch goals and will be putting out a very robust rewards package. You can check out the campaign for Chapter Five HERE.

Thanks again for all your support.  Here's hoping when we return with Chapter Six, the world is in a much better place.

Save The Date: White Ash Finally Returns
about 4 years ago – Fri, Feb 21, 2020 at 11:21:51 PM

Hello White Ashians,

After a bit longer delay than we would have liked, we're thrilled to let you know White Ash is about to return to Kickstarter to "kick off" a brand new story arc.

So mark your calendars, as there are going to be a LOT of deals this time around for for day one backers. Plus, we're offering some all-new, limited rewards that are sure to go quickly (Hint: one rhymes with Fetch Lovers).

Two quick additional notes:

This kickstarter will be for an oversized Chapter Five (rather than five and six).  We'd been hoping to try to package both issues together, but the year was already starting to get away from us and we have a lot planned.  If all continues to go well, the next Kickstarter will be for Chapters Six and Seven.

Also, some of you, who'd backed the first four issues but didn't get our trade, had specifically asked if you'd be able to get the 10 page Glarien back up story.  The answer is yes, that will be available as part of this next campaign.

Thank you again for your continued support.  It's only through you, our loyal backers, that we're able to bring White Ash to life.  The story has only just begun.  And we can't wait to share it all with you.

Best,

Charlie, Conor and Fin

So when's the next Kickstarter again?
over 4 years ago – Fri, Nov 22, 2019 at 01:03:05 AM

Hi White Ashians,

We wanted to throw a couple of quick updates your way in case some of you are getting a very early jump on the Thanksgiving traffic.

Unless something changes, we will be launching our next Kickstarter for White Ash: Chapter 5 and Chapter 6 on January 15th, 2020. We’d hoped to get that out before the end of the year, but due to a multitude of factors, Conor got delayed finishing The Game. And we want to make sure that Chapter 6 is pretty much done before we go live.

If you’re looking to take part in our “Street Team” cross promotion for the Scout Comics version of White Ash #1, next week is the deadline to get your preorders into your Local Comic Book Shop. And even if you’re not looking to pick up a copy, we’d sure appreciate it if you mentioned to your LCS how much you enjoy the series. The better this does in stores, the more we can offer you on Kickstarter.

Once again, here’s the image and promo code.

Thanks again for all your support. Also, if anyone doesn’t have their rewards at this point, please DM me immediately. All books should have been delivered.

Have a wonderful set of winter holidays. We look forward to catching up early next year.

Best,

Charlie and the rest of Team Ash.

Hello White Ashians,

Happy Halloween. We’re expecting to see lots of pictures of Aleck, Lillian, Seth, etc. out trick or treating this year. Okay, full disclosure, we’re not really. I couldn’t get my own kids to do that… yet.  Instead I’ve got a She-Ra and a Maleficent I’ll be overloading with sugar in a couple of hours. That said, if anyone of you ever does some cosplay, we’d love to see it.

Anyway, we’re covering a lot of ground in this blast.

Who won the hardcover?    What’s the deal with Scout?   And when is that next KS launching?

So let’s start by saying thank you. We had an amazing response to our survey. It was incredibly helpful to know what you want from our kickstarters. We’re doing some tweaking to the next campaign right now. But you gave us a LOT of feedback and we listened. The winner of our drawing for the signed hardcover was Jennifer from NY State. (Congrats, Jennifer, look for an email)

Now — Scout Comics. We previously mentioned that we're partnering with Scout to put our book into comic book shops. Well, it’s happening people.

Starting in January, White Ash will be in comic book stores everywhere*

Our new cover for the Scout version of #1

Now, to clarify, this 6 issue series will be reprinting the first four issues that we previously put out on Kickstarter. However, these books will have all new covers (and variants) as well as some new pages here and there to make the transition into a different format work (6 standard sized issues vs 4 KS sized ones).

*But it will only be in some shops with your help. As many of you know, most local comic book shops only sell Big Two titles along with a handful of comics from Image, Darkhorse, IDW, etc. If you want to see title like White Ash in your shop. You need to ask for it. And you do that by giving the shop owner this pull code. NOV191869. (You need to do this sometime in the next 3 weeks).

We’ve made this little card you can print and bring into the store with you.

And I know, you’re probably asking yourself, why would I want this Scout Version if I already have the kickstarter one? The truth is, if you're not a completist,  you might not. But we’re hoping you’ll be our advocates for the book.  Tell your local store how good the series is.  Show them some of your issues. And if you're willing, add it to your pull list.  You see, the more customers that come in and request it, the better chance it has in getting a decent order. And if it does well in shops, that’s going to help you. Because...

  • The better it does at shops, the more people that will find the kickstarter.
  • The more people that back our kickstarters, the cheaper we can offer the books.
  • The better the Scout version does, the more collectable your kickstarter version will be.

And if that doesn’t convince you, anyone who backs our next kickstarter AND orders/ picks up a Scout copy of White Ash # 1 will get the following two extra rewards.

The first will be a textured print, signed and numbered by Conor Hughes of our new cover. Secondly, as an advocate of the book, you will become an official member of the White Ash Street Team. And receive one of these buttons.

(We will also give you a set of these rewards if you convince a friend to pick up the book.)  Or next kickstarter will have details about how you can claim these prizes.

Next KS you say? Yep. While Scout is introducing a new audience to White Ash, we're going to make Chapters Five and Six available to your, our amazing backers sometime in the next 3-4 weeks. We will will let you know as soon as we have the date for the KS locked down. There are going to be some great early-bird deals this time around that you won’t want to miss.

So thank you again for all of your support.  We're hoping to be able to make issues of White Ash for a really long time.  With your help, Kickstarter and now our partners at Scout, hopefully this a dream we'll keep going for many years.

All the very best from White Ash,

Charlie (Conor and fin)

Oh, and a little P.S.  While you're handing in that pull code.  I'd encourage you to also give them this one  as well for TART, (NOV19186) our "Twisted Sister" title that's also in Previews from Scout this month.

Tart's the story of a time traveling demon hunter.  If you haven't been fortunate enough to catch Tart on Kickstarter, you can get to know a bit more about the book HERE.  Tart's always a must back for me.  And now it's going on my pull list too.
